Fourth Wall

You get to spend a day inside your favorite movie. Tell us which one it is — and what happens to you while you’re there.

A lot of my favourite films are vampire films. I like the vampire characters that are always portrayed as being strong and sexy while always being mysterious. They also have that link to Vlad the Impaler which makes the stories ever so slightly real despite being mythical creatures.

Thinking of two films in particular – Dracula Untold and Underworld. Both Dracula and Selene show great strength and, not that I can speak about Dracula (being a straight male), but Selene’s uniform of choice… Well, it does have a definite sexiness!

Despite the strength of the characters, they are fundamentally flawed by their know weakness to silver, light and a stake through the heart (which would obviously not to much good to mortals either). I think they’re a good metaphor for the combination of strength and fragility.

I think if I were in a vampire film, I hate to say that I would probably end up being more Edward Cullen than one of his more bad-ass brethren! “I don’t want to make you a vampire.” “I’m not gonna make you a vampire.” “You don’t want to be a vampire.” “DAMN IT! I’m going to have to make you a vampire!”

How did we get here?
I used to know you so well.
I think I know,
I think I know.
There is something I see in you.
It might kill me, I want it to be true.
