Is that not two very different questions?!
Assuming it’s just public speaking, then the answer is that it doesn’t really bother me. I think the most I’ve presented in front of was maybe 100 which isn’t a staggering number in the scheme of things. I think the trick is just being confident with your content.
The presentations I dislike are the ones where you have to present someone else’s content. I’ve had to do one before, not to many people, where I was given a presentation all of six minutes before I had to present it. I hate being one of those people who needs to read the presentation but that one left me with little choice.
The other presentations I hate (and not the ones I give) are the ones where the slides being used contain so much information that you don’t know where to concentrate. A slide really shouldn’t contain many words. I remember a guy at work projecting a slide onto a wall and the writing was still so small that he had to walk up the wall to be able to read it himself.
I’d maybe go as far to say that I enjoy giving presentations. They’re a bit like interviews in that they give you a chance to show people stuff about yourself and influence people.
Don’t say “Yes”, run away now
I’ll meet you when you’re out of the church at the back door
Don’t wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said, “Speak now.”
