Life Imitates Art

This week, find inspiration in a piece of art. Then, imitate it.

This an interesting topic and one that I’ve been thinking a lot about recently. Maybe that’s why my picture is so rubbish, because I want to write it anyway and that’s the best I can find.

It’s a bit of a running joke that my grandmother thinks that the soap opera Coronation Street is actually a documentary. When my aunt got married, we got back to the reception venue and my grandmother sat herself next to my new uncle. She turned to him and said “If you break her heart, I’ll kill you”. That really wasn’t the time or the place!

I’m reminded of the scene (and I’m sorry, Regular Readers, that I allude to this film rather too often) in Friends With Benefits when Dylan and Jamie agree to be friends with benefits. They’re watching the film and ask how things like that never happen in real life. I admit that, in the past, I have had plans and then thought that it’s just the thought of an overactive imagination.

That holds the first and I’m the last,
I wasn’t good at arts and crafts,
Move, my mood,
You’ve got the the thirst and that’s too bad,
I’ve got the water and it’s the last.
Move, my mood,
Your testimony shakes and all you want, it breaks –
I would never leave.
You’ve found somebody, is it true?
That’s real, was it you?
My mood,
That holds the first and I’m the last,
I wasn’t good at arts and crafts,
Move, my mood,
You’ve got the the thirst and that’s too bad,
I’ve got the water and it’s the last.

Move, my mood,
Your testimony shakes and all you want, it breaks –
I would never leave.
You’ve found somebody, is it true?
That’s real, was it you?
My mood,
Its loud,
That’s right,
Is it bright?
Could’ve tried
Or break down.
You know my heart’s outside.
