Curves And Edges : Back Knack

I didn’t realise it was as long ago as 2013 that John Legend sang of loving all of someone’s “curves and edges”.  It seems like yesterday I was discussing with someone what “edges” they may have and I was sure that the song hadn’t been long out even if I did think it was by Ed Sheeran for a long time.

Curves are quite easy.  I’m a straight male so the obvious ones for me are boobs and bums.  I’m going to guess that those of another persuasion can also be bum people and might be looking for musculature as another type of curve? The less obvious curves but things that I find really attractive are lips and smiles (especially if dimples are involved!) and, for me, one of the sexiest parts of a woman is that curve where her neck meets her shoulder, as shown off by Delta in the cover picture (any excuse!).

I thought, as a bit of a change to my normal posts, I’d share some of my curves with all you lovely, lovely people.  Aren’t you lucky?

Now, before any of you get too excited (or worried), I’m pretty sure the terms of my web hosting don’t allow me to post pornography.  Regular readers might know that I’ve been having some trouble with my back.  Earlier in the week I went to have it scanned after a long and arduous 17 months of experimenting just with physiotherapy.

So on that you’ll see that I have some disc knack.  The fact it’s black is a giveaway.  It’s also prolapsed in a few places and the light colour on the vertebrae, apparently, is inflammation.  I believe that quite a lot of the population would have a similar issue and it is the most common place to have this sort of thing happen.

On this one is something we can’t quite explain at the moment.  The big black blob is the disc knack which can you see bulging out at the bottom.  Beneath that you can see a mid-grey Y shaped piece.  That’s the two traverse processes pointing left and right and the spinous process pointing down.  The curves of the traverse processes are normally even, but the red arrow is pointing a bit of a step in one of mine that we (not the doctors) haven’t worked out yet, but it’s possibly back knack.  There is possibly also something up with the ligament above it.

Those curves might not be as pretty as boobs and bums, but it is quite nice for me to see that I might not have been making up the pain of the last year and half.

What would I do without your smart mouth?
Drawing me in, and you kicking me out.
You’ve got my head spinning, no kidding, I can’t pin you down.
What’s going on in that beautiful mind?
I’m on your magical mystery ride
And I’m so dizzy, don’t know what hit me, but I’ll be alright.

My head’s under water
But I’m breathing fine.
You’re crazy and I’m out of my mind.

‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you,
Loves your curves and all your edges,
All your perfect imperfections.
Give your all to me,
I’ll give my all to you.
You’re my end and my beginning.
Even when I lose I’m winning.
‘Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh.

How many times do I have to tell you
Even when you’re crying you’re beautiful too?
The world is beating you down, I’m around through every mood.
You’re my downfall, you’re my muse,
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues.
I can’t stop singing, it’s ringing, in my head for you.

My head’s under water
But I’m breathing fine.
You’re crazy and I’m out of my mind.

‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you,
Loves your curves and all your edges,
All your perfect imperfections.
Give your all to me,
I’ll give my all to you.
You’re my end and my beginning.
Even when I lose I’m winning.
‘Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh.

[Bridge:]
Give me all of you
Cards on the table, we’re both showing hearts
Risking it all, though it’s hard

‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you,
Loves your curves and all your edges,
All your perfect imperfections.
Give your all to me,
I’ll give my all to you.
You’re my end and my beginning.
Even when I lose I’m winning.
‘Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you.

I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh.

One of my favourite songs ever. Love that he wrote it for his wife, makes it all that much more beautiful. Perfect imperfections is the best line.
Sorry to hear of your back ailments but hoping now with the x-rays some treatment for them may be forthcoming soon.

    • Thanks Marianne! Yes, I’m hoping now that there’s something to see there might be something more effective than the physiotherapy.

It is a great song. I tried to find the inspiration but couldn’t but I like that it’s written for his wife. I was just looking at the lyrics again and not sure if I can spot a favourite lyric. I love the same line as you, but also love the story in the whole song.
