Naughty Nurses And My Healthy Breakfast

I didn’t have the most healthy breakfast, but it was really nice!

I’ve been pining for a proper fry up all week, but being in various different places and having other commitments hasn’t made it possible.  I’ve also been wanting to try Bill’s in Manchester for breakfast for a while.  This morning, the stars aligned and I got breakfast!

healthy

To be fair, I’m not sure how healthy or otherwise this was.  Individually, each ingredient was fine.  It has fruit and vegetable which is healthy.  Eggs are healthy.  Sausages and bacon provide extra protein.  Mushrooms should be fine, although maybe not the blackpudding!  Obviously, though, there are a lot of calories.

I love going out for breakfast – it is truly one go my favourite things to do.  This morning, there wasn’t even a need to talk – just good food and a newspaper (and starting some blog posts!).  Whatever the food does for my waistline, it was certainly healthy for my mind.  I had a cracking hour or so.

Or so I thought!

This afternoon was spent at a 1st birthday party.  Having eaten well first thing, I didn’t feel the need to partake in vegetarian buffet and lost patience in waiting for cake.  Regular readers may realise how long the cake must have taken for me to give up on it!

The venue was a park near where the birthday girl lives.  As soon as walked in I got a bad case of déjà vu despite never having been to that park before.  I didn’t even know it was there.  It wasn’t just the place though, it was the picnic blankets on the floor and the people there.

An hour or so later someone was telling me story of a different birthday cake in the shape of a “naughty nurse”, one for her 60 year old husband.  As she was telling me this I recognised the situation again – not just the story of the cake but a woman in a dress, someone else taking a photo, a tree and other conversations happening.

I know that there’s a science to déjà vu and a theory that it’s one side of the brain processing something a little faster than the other (or something like that) and that may be the case.  It was just weird to have it happen twice in a  few hours and then also for the length of time of the second occasion.

In My Family’s Weird Vision Of The Future a few days I go I mentioned about having premonitions.  I won’t go in to too much detail about what it was, but I’d had a feeling about something all day that came true.  I then got the déjà vu.  I’d kind of like it to be my brain telling me something.  The only other thing I thought it could be was my massive breakfast, and I’d hate it to be that!

You’ll say, we’ve got nothin’ in common,
No common ground to start from
And we’re falling apart.
You’ll say, the world has come between us,
Our lives have come between us.
Still I know you just don’t care.

And I said what about Breakfast at Tiffany’s?
She said I think I remember the film
And as I recall I think we both kind o’ liked it.
And I said well that’s, the one thing we’ve got.

I see you, the only one who knew me
But now your eyes see through me.
I guess I was wrong.
So what now?
It’s plain to see we’re over,
And I hate when things are over
When so much is left undone.

And I said what about Breakfast at Tiffany’s?
She said I think I remember the film
And as I recall I think we both kind o’ liked it.
And I said well that’s, the one thing we’ve got.

You’ll say, that we’ve got nothin’ in common,
No common ground to start from
And we’re falling apart.
