Sleep

Hey!

So… If we were having a coffee this week I think the theme would be how tired I’ve been.

A remember many years ago a friend explaining to me how it takes a baby a long time to wake up in the morning, whereas an adult can wake up and get going.  Presumably that’s because adults can have coffee! I don’t remember what it was like as a baby but I know that I don’t find it easy to wake up in the mornings.

I guess everyone gets tired, but this week I’ve barely been able to get out of bed and my concentration span has been shorter than normal.  I’ve been getting headaches too, and I don’t really ever get headaches.  There are a few things that haven’t helped my tiredness.

The first was on Wednesday morning.  I was supposed to be going on a two factory tour on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the hotels were outside of our travel policy room rate in each place, so I agreed just to do a day trip to one location.  The rental car arrived when I wasn’t in on Tuesday night, so I only really looked at it on Wednesday morning at 5.45am when I was due to leave.

I got in an turned the key, and was bombarded with a load of messages.

carproblems

It had to headlight errors, thought that there was something in front of it closer than the barn across the road, and it had a tyre with no air in it whatsoever.

I decided I wasn’t travelling in it which I wasn’t too bothered by as it was more of a face time meeting than anything else.  I rang Enterprise to tell them and they were very apologetic but more for the tyre (which couldn’t be helped) than the lights that they knew there was an error with before they left it.

The disappointing thing for me was actually having to get up so early to not to go!

By Friday afternoon, I was shattered but had already planned to go out that night.  I went to get my normal three shot, wet, soy, extra hot Pumpkin Spice latte with whipped cream and perked up in time to go out.  I parked up in town with the idea of getting changed in the car, but what is usually a quiet area was really busy! Took me forever not to make the men walking past the car jealous.

It was a visit to the casino.  I ended only £5 down having been £10 up, but that’s fine.  I volunteered to give the biggest loser a lift home and then got lost because the motorway junction I was after was closed.  I figured I’d head to the airport because that would put me near Didsbury and I know my there from there.  Somehow I missed Didsbury and ended up a long way down the wrong motorway.

So, we got to bed at 4.30.  I had to be up at 8. I powered my way through the day powered by more caffeine including from that Monster in a white can, which is probably the only nice energy drink that isn’t Mountain Dew.  I went to the Liverpool v West Brom match which was more entertaining than the borefest against Manchester United that I went to on Monday night.

This Sunday evening is officially the start of my week’s staycation.  I have a few things I need to do and want to do, especially work out how to use my camera properly before the holiday in Iceland.  (This is actually the first time in my life I have two holidays booked – Iceland and France.) I’m going to try to get out early to take some sunrise photos if I can as practice, but other than that it’s going to be resting and relaxing!

I know that sounds boring, but for me it sounds great!

Just before I go – my week on Pokémon Go!

I’ve been walking an Abra for weeks to evolve it and then, 4 candies away from 125, two Kadabras appear at work on the same day! I also evolved an amazing Cloyster but the Gyarados has the worst moveset possible which is really annoying considering one needs to catch 100 Magikarp to evolve it.

I hope you’ve had a good week.  I’m really looking forward to the next few.

Don’t talk to strangers

Oh, in the strangest dreams, walking by your side
It is the hole and you impose upon your life
When you’re out loneliness, it crawls up in the crowd
It’s what you feel but can’t articulate out loud

Oh you go to sleep on your own
And you wake each day with your thoughts
And it scares you being alone
It’s a last resort

All you want is someone onto whom you can cling
Your mother warned of strangers and the dangers they may bring
Your dreams and memories are blurring into one
The seams which hold the waking world have slowly come undone

You’ll come undone

Oh you go to sleep on your own
And you wake each day with your thoughts
And it scares you being alone
It’s a last resort

You go to sleep on your own
And you wake each day with your thoughts
And it scares you being alone
It’s a last resort

Oh

Don’t talk to strangers
And don’t walk into danger
Don’t talk to strangers
And don’t walk into danger

Oh you go to sleep on your own
And you wake each day with your thoughts
And it scares you being alone
It’s a last resort

You go to sleep on your own
And you wake each day with your thoughts
And it scares you being alone
It’s a last resort

Don’t talk to strangers

Oh you go to sleep on your own
And you wake each day with your thoughts
And it scares you being alone
It’s a last resort…
