If we were having a coffee this week, I’d definitely be needing a strong one. Sleep has probably been the theme of the week.
After Moo’s stressful last weekend, I decided to let him have the run of the house last Sunday evening. He wasn’t a happy kitty and still wasn’t going anywhere near his normal place for comfy sits (the spare bed) so I left the doors open and let him come to in to my bedroom if he wanted to.
He wasn’t too bad but he did want to explore everywhere, even the places he’s explored many times before. Plus, when Moo Cat wants to jump off things, he lands with a thud completely at odds with the majesty with which he can jump up on to things. So I was woken up a few times by him moving and a few times where he’d decided he wanted a chat.
Sleep has been pretty rubbish all week though. Some nights I’ve been falling asleep on the sofa at 7 o’clock and have had no problem sleeping all night. Some people used to laugh at me for napping because sofa sleeping was a regular occurrence but more recently it really hasn’t been, and especially not that early. I’m literally having dinner having flaking out, even sat upright!
Other nights, though, is completely the opposite. I had one night where I went to bed around 3am, another where, even though I went to bed, I actually didn’t sleep at all so I just got up again at about 4am and did stuff while my brain was running at full speed.
So, yeah, for one reason or another, not all of my own making, I haven’t had a great week of sleep.
At work a few weeks ago, the canteen broke. The ceiling collapsed, which is a bigger issue when a lot of the building is made from asbestos. It’s been sealed off and lots of work is going on to get it back running again. As a result, though, we’ve been probably doing more stuff as a team than we’ve done for a while when it comes to coffee runs or going out for lunch. It’s been good.
Petty Annoyance Of The Week comes courtesy of the Chevrolet Spark.
I know most rear light clusters nowadays aren’t symmetrical, but that fog light and reverse light placement is shocking.
More Reasonable Annoyance Of The Week is footpath etiquette. I know you always get people walking at different speeds but what has annoyed me recently is groups of people taking up entire footpaths causing you to actually stop if you’re walking in the opposite direction to them.
I had my first proper shave for 6 weeks yesterday. While enjoying playing around with having a goatee a ‘tache, I’m amazed how much younger I look clean shaven; so amazed that I’m not sure I like it. And that’s a bit of a pain, because I’m still not look sure I like the bearded look.
You might see some new additions to this site. I think I’ve got most of the bits at the bottom working properly but the important bit is actually at the top. Now you can see how much of my waffle you have left to read without having to scroll to the bottom! I’ve also changed the menu to actually make it useful.
I think that’s about it.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your week.
