Chandler: Well, we have a deal where we each get to pick five different celebrities that we can sleep with, and the other one can’t get mad.
Ross: Ah, the heart of every healthy relationship: Honesty, respect, and sex with celebrities.
Monica: So, Chandler… who’s on your list?
Chandler: Uh, Kim Basinger, Cindy Crawford, Halle Berry, Yasmine Bleeth, and, ah, Jessica Rabbit.
Rachel: Now, you do realize that she’s a cartoon… and way out of your league?
Chandler: I know, I know, I just always wondered if I could get her eyes to pop out of her head.
That’s an exchange from Friends where 4 of the five are discussing their Freebie List. I’m sure you get the idea from the quotes. So I’m not sure I can get to 5 and there is a point at the end, so keep with me!
Number 1 would be Australian singer and actress Delta Goodrem.
Number 2 would be supermodel Bar Refaeli.
Number 3 is former tennis player Ana Ivanovic.
Another actress in Gwendoline Taylor.
And… Another actress in Gal Gadot.
So, besides the fact that they’re all married or with partners as far as I know so I won’t go there anyway if I had the chance, what do they all have in common? First up, I guess that they are all rather attractive looking and female. They all have long hair too, but that’s about it – we’ve established my type!
The other important thing, though, is that I actually know not one of them. In fact, with the actresses, I only really know Nina Tucker, Sibyl and Wonder Woman. With Bar Refaeli, I only know pictures of her, although I have asked Ana to marry me. She laughed.
I realise that this is a rather crude way of getting to the point, but what do you really see when you see something you find attractive, something you like or something that you love? Do you see aesthetics? Do you see particular traits or characteristics? Do you see a character? At what stage can you say that you love “it” or “them”?
