The Coffee With The Productivity And The Hot Curry

Greetings.  If we were having a coffee this week, it would be one of too many that I’ve had this week.

There’s a new coffee shop opened on my way on to work.  It’s an old shipping container and it’s been fitted out to look really nice.  The coffee is locally sourced (well, locally roasted) and tastes really nice.  However, I went back the second day and ordered a flat white again and they made it by adding coffee to milk and that bothers me because it’s not how it’s done and I’d expect the owner of a coffee shop to know a little more than that.  If it was called a latte that would have been fine.

I’ve been continuing with my attempts to get the house decluttered this week.  Lots of recycling has left.  I’ve nearly finished the washing.  I think I would have finished the washing had they not have been working the field next to my house and throwing loads of dust up.

I cut the lawn as low as it would go the other night.  I then got the electric rake out and found that my lawn was more moss than grass.

I’m hoping to play the long game with the lawn this year – destroy it now in the hope that it grows back better in a few months.

We had a visitor at work this week, but sadly not any of the rumoured people.  It wasn’t even Dean Gaffney.  It was a member of the US government.  We saw him out the window has he came and left but he didn’t come to say hello to any of us normal people, which was a bit of a shame.

I went to go see my GP to get a blood test to check my Vitamin D levels this week, as I think I mentioned last week.  I got there about 5 minutes before my appointment and was the first one called through, getting some evil looks from the rest of the waiting room.  I thought I’d do her a favour and get straight to the point and I’d be in and out in 3 minutes, but she seemed more interested in having a chat than I did!

I went to the supermarket to find dinner and saw this.

Didn’t buy it.  I’d still be struggling now if I’d have even attempted to eat it!

I’ve been trying to update this site for the last few weeks, finding an hour here and there to do another bit of blogging that I enjoy, which is building the blog.  I spent hours the other night trying to get something to work and it just wasn’t coming off.  I thought it might be something more fundamental so did some new installs and I eventually narrowed it down but couldn’t get it to work.  I ended up e-mailing someone for help and literally five minutes later I worked out that I just had two variables the wrong way round.

That was a little irritating.

I feel like it’s been quite a productive week, but not a great deal to show for it.  It’s a little weird now that I’m trying to be more organised.  I’ve always known to break tasks down in small parts at work to show progress, but I’m not getting that much of a buzz out of such slow progress.  If anything, the nicest part is actually being able to tell everyone else that something has happened!

As I say, that’s a bit strange for me because I don’t consider myself to be an impatient person – quite the opposite.

Next week, it goes without saying that I’m looking forward to not having to go in to work on Monday because of another public holiday! Next Saturday is the Champions League Final between Liverpool and Tottenham and, despite the fact I haven’t got a ticket to the match, I’m getting nervous about it already.  I never used to have this many nerves about watching football.  I must be getting old or something.

Erm… Two new Pokemon this week.

I hope that you’ve had a great week.  Speak to you next time.
