The Coffee With The Tension And Puncture

Hello, if we were having a coffee this week, it would be El Jardín Espresso from Colombia, which I bought from Pot Kettle Black when I was in Manchester last weekend.  Its tasting notes are brown sugar and praline.  It has delicate notes of elderflower and passionfruit which add complexity and brightness to the cup.  I would say that it is very complex, to the extent that I thought it was a little all over the place the first time I tried but it is absolutely delicious.  Maybe it’s even worth the £11 I paid for the bag.

This is a late coffee so it might be a little rushed.  I’ve just come back from watching Avengers Endgame and loved it.  It was a nice way to tie some things together.  I’d been wanting to see it for ages, pretty much since it came out, but hadn’t had the opportunity.

It was a little strange having a full week at work after the public holidays in the last few.  I say “a full week”… I worked from home on Friday because I found a nail in one of car’s tyres which I was getting repaired.  Somehow I just couldn’t get in to things on Friday which isn’t normal for me working from home – I’m actually normally very productive when I’m on my own.

I had my nonsense of an appraisal.  Yeah, may as well leave it at that.

Since running the half marathon I’ve had a bit of discomfort in my achilles so I went to the physio whenever it was.  Maybe Wednesday night.  She works in the supermarket down the road  I had a massage on my calf and she text me the next day to ask how the achilles was.  I wasn’t too sure because my calf hurt like crazy! It also felt like it was bubbling or draining when I lay on my side which was a strange sensation.

Moo Cat hasn’t been feeling very well today but after he threw up a few times he then got very interested in my lunch.

I’m trying to think what else happened this week that you might be interested in… Not much really.  Apologies to any regular readers who might have noticed that I missed a post from my usual schedule this week.  I started to write it but then life happened.

Last night I watched Liverpool v Newcastle at home.  For those not interested or who otherwise might not know, I support Liverpool and this is the closest that we’ve come to winning a league title for around 30 years.  The pace of Liverpool and Manchester City is relentless and neither side is losing, meaning that for maybe only the second time I can remember the league is going to be decided on the final day of the season.

Liverpool got a beating unbefitting of the level of performance earlier in the week at the hands of Barcelona and on Saturday night they were awful.  The score was 2-2 and I was struggling to sit still.  I spent most of it walking around the lounge until we eventually scored what turned out to be the winner, after which I spent the last 10 minutes kneeling behind the sofa!

I don’t know if anyone read last week’s post and whether you’re bothered enough to wonder how I am (I mean that sarcastically rather than questioning your empathy, dear reader!)… I’m fine.  I’ve had some weird dreams this week too but I can only remember small details and I don’t know what to make of them anyway.

In my pre-occupation with doing a post last week actually saying how I was feeling, I missed the bit that all you regulars most look forward to… Yes, I got new Pokemon!

I hope that you’ve had a good week, wherever you are.
